Hand a pencil or a crayon to any child and they will be only too quick to show their creative streak – whether it be through drawing or colouring in a picture.

While it may just be a fun activity from a child’s point of view, colouring in actually has a lot of benefits for a child.  The simple act of colouring a picture promotes self-expression as well as colour recognition, grip control, coordination and focus.

Throughout October, Yayme! are running a Christmas colouring competition to reward children aged 4-12 for their artistic efforts.

Prizes will be awarded in three age categories: 4-6 years, 7- 9 years and 10-12 years. The winner of each category will receive a personalised Christmas stocking of their choice!
